Review:
Truth be told when I first heard about this many years abore I saw it.  I had reservations.  I mean it one thing to have diffences between a manga and the anime series, but to make a whole new anime felt strange to me.  Let me tell you this isn't like the kind of changes between Tenchi OAV and Tenchi TV or BubbleGum Crisis OAV and 2040.  In the terms of departure from canon this more of Tenchi in Tokyo.
Thankfully unlike Tenchi in Tokyo, this is just as cool a the original.  Maybe it's just me but the darker tone and style and someother elements reminds me vaguely of X (another CLAMP work).   If you are looking for something upbeat and light is is not for you.  This is dark.  One thing that troubles me is that when the girls are in the spirit beasts, they get hurt and bloody during battle, normal that wouldn't phase be too much, but at the time they are naked, while it's a vauge, no detail nudity,  the mix of blood and nudity really irks me.
However, this is one great anime, a definite must see.
