Overview: (Advertisement)
Travel
back to the island where it all started, collecting electronic pets and
training them to be mighty warriors. An entirely new battle system makes
for the most realistic combat in series history, and the improved graphics
and intense sound deliver you right to the heart of the tournament.
Individual
monster control allows you to have maximum influence over the story's outcome,
and more than 100 new creatures are available for capture in this impressive
sequel to the acclaimed DIGIMON WORLD. The action is fast and furious,
as you enter into battle against some of the most gruesome machines imaginable!
This time around, you can actually gain a bit of an advantage by melding
two Digimon together to create an entirely new creature.
With more than
200 monsters to capture and train, the game ensures that you'll be at it
for a while before the excitement dies down. Play alone or take on a friend. |
Review:
DO NOT
show this game to anyone who thinks that Digimon is a rip-off of Pokemon,
because this will just cement it. Even though the show is not, this
game is.
Basically
you join one of three clubs which you get your first Digimon, then you
catch more Digimon. Worst of all if you want to get your Digimon
to Mega or Ultimate levels you have DNA Digivolve several times after maxing
out two other Digimon (at least several times). While you get to
keep SOME of the first Digimon's attacks you can't control which ones are
kept. Unlike the anime DNA Digivolving LOWERS your level.
But without all that you can hope to have is an army of Lv. 13 Champions.
Instead
of walking around you are in a Digi-Beetle, which always run out of energy
when you get lost in a level. Leaving from and returning to the city
takes FOREVER and the load time is bad. If I see one more Airdramon,
I WILL scream.
If it
was me I'd handle it more like the show in with an RPG. One person,
one Digimon. Of course you could join up with any number of NPC characters
and their Digimon. But that is not to be. Don't get my wrong
I like Digimon, just not this game.
I have
too many BETTER games (FFT, Ogre Battle) I have yet to defeat. I
keep hearing about how this one is so much better than the first one, and
that scares me. |
